Another 3500 Candidates Were Invited In the Latest Express Entry Draw

Another 3500 candidates were invited in the latest Express Entry draw of 2023 which has been held by the Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC).

It was an all-program draw in which a cut-off score of 483 was required. Candidates from all the Express Entry programs namely, Canadian Experience Class (CEC), Federal Skilled Worker Program (FSWP), and Federal Skilled Trades Program (FSTP) were invited.

3,500 candidates also received Invitations to Apply (ITAs) in an earlier draw on April 12, which was also an all-program draw. 7,000 candidates were invited to the draws on March 15, March 23, and March 29, each over two weeks instead of bi-weekly draws. April 12 draw invited just half of the candidates as compared to these in which the minimum CRS score was also raised from 481 to 486.

March Milestones of the Express Entry

21,000 ITAs were issued in March which was the second highest number of ITAs issued in the history of Express Entry. Earlier than this, 27,332 CEC candidates were issued invitations in a single draw in February 2021 which is the highest number of ITAs issued in a month till date.

The first draw in March was the largest ever all-program draw in which 7,000 candidates were invited. For a total of 21,000 candidates invited in two weeks and a monthly total of 21,667 ITAs issued, the following two draws repeated this number. Express Entry-PNP Only Draw was Held by IRCC on 1 March 2023, in which the remaining 667 candidates were invited.

There were 4 Express Entry draws in March in total, in one week. Draws typically occur every two weeks on Wednesdays, which is why it was very unusual.

What is Express Entry?

The application management system established in 2015 which was used to evaluate and rank candidates from all three Canada’s economic class immigration programs is known as Express Entry. It is one of the major pathways to Canada along with the Provincial Nominee Programs.

A Comprehensive Ranking System is used by Express Entry to evaluate the candidates based on human capital factors such as occupation, work experience, language ability, and education. Invitation to Apply (ITA) is received by candidates with the highest scores in an Express Entry draw. Highly skilled candidates are very much likely to move to Canada with the help of a Work Visa, if they are looking for a short-term stay and Express Entry if they are looking for permanent residency.
