Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) held the fifteenth draw of 2023. 4300 ITAs are issued by IRCC in the latest Express Entry draw.
A minimum Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) score of 486 was required by the candidates. Following the draw on June 8, this was the second draw this month. With a minimum CRS cut-off score of 486, 4800 candidates were invited to that all-program draw.
Later this summer, IRCC would begin holding draws for Express Entry candidates who fall under these six new categories.
The categories which were mentioned are transport, healthcare, science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM) professions, trades, such as carpenters, plumbers, and contractors, strong French speaking abilities, and agriculture.
Invitations to Apply (ITAs) will be received by Express Entry candidates with either the required language or work experience in selected occupations within these new categories, in these new draws. Nearly half of the overall occupations eligible for category-based selection are represented by healthcare occupations.
STEM occupations which include Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics also make up a large share of overall occupations. To be eligible for an ITA, immigration applicants who have work experience within any of the listed occupations must also be in the Express Entry pool.
People with high CRS scores are still more likely to receive an ITA which signifies that a high CRS score is still relevant, it is still important to Achieve High CRS scores in Express Entry. The categories chosen were based on the discussions with the provinces, territories, and other stakeholders as stated by IRCC.
In the yearly report to parliament, the results of draws and their success is also needed to be included by IRCC.
