893 PNP invitations issued by IRCC in the new Express Entry Draw
893 PNP invitations issued by IRCC in the new Express Entry draw in the third Express Entry draw of 2023 that has been held by Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) with a score of minimum 733 Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) scores. Since July 2022, this was the first draw specific to any program.
All program draws were held by IRCC between July until today, in which all eligible Express Entry candidates were considered for invitations. In an all-program draw, Express Entry candidates may be invited without a provincial nomination from 1 of the 3 programs managed by the application management system of Express Entry. In this draw, a provincial nomination is already received by Express Entry candidates.
Foreign nationals who are capable to support their regional labour market and population objectives are nominated by Canadian provinces with the help of Provincial Nominee Programs (PNPs). Most of the Canadian territories and provinces have Express Entry aligned with PNPs except for Nunavut and Quebec.
After a provincial nomination is received by a candidate, CRS scores are increased by 600 points. A minimum CRS score of 133 is needed by Express Entry candidates before getting a provincial nomination to be eligible in this specific draw.
Results of Current Express Entry
3 weeks ago, Express Entry resumed after an unexpected pause of 6 weeks between 23 November 2022 and 11 January 2023. Consecutively, two draws were held on 11 January and 18 January.
On November 2016, a system glitch occurred which caused the pause because of the implementation of the National Occupational Classification (NOC 2021).
On 11 January 2023, these technical issues have since been resolved and a round of invitations for Express Entry was successfully implemented. With 507 and 490 cut-off scores respectively, 5,500 candidates were invited in both the 11 January and 18 January draw.
IRCC will soon resume regular draws. They have occurred on a regular basis since Express Entry began in 2015. It was true even during the long pause of draws for programs managed by Express Entry between December 2020 and November 2022. Express Entry candidates were continuously invited by IRCC from the Provincial Nominee programs.
Express Entry was created to identify and target highly skilled candidates as such candidates can integrate fast and have a positive impact on Canada’s economy and workforce. This is because 75% of population growth and approximately 90% of labour growth in Canada has been accounted by immigration.
Express Entry
It is a system to manage the applications for 3 immigration programs of Canada: Federal Skilled Trades Program (FSTP), Federal Skilled Workers Program (FSWP), and Canadian Experience Class (CEC) candidates in the Express Entry pool are already eligible for minimum 1 program.
Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) which is a point-based system used by Express Entry, is used for ranking candidates’ profiles. Top-scoring candidates can apply for permanent residency after receiving ITA.
After the candidate applies, the IRCC officer reviews the application and decides whether they are approved or not. The candidate will become a Canadian permanent citizen and will be a step closer to becoming a Canadian citizen.
