The Twelfth Express Entry draw of 2023 was held on May 10 in which a total of 589 invitations to apply (ITAs) were issued in a Provincial Nominee Program-specific draw.
A minimum Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) score of 691 was required by the candidates. If candidates who are already in the Express Entry pool receive a nomination from a Canadian province, it is considered a PNP-specific draw. This was the fourth PNP-specific draw of 2023.
667 candidates were invited in the last Express Entry PNP-Only Draw Held by IRCC on 1 March 2023. Candidates from all the Express Entry programs since then have been considered in all draws.
The amount of money Express Entry candidates must have access to in Canada has changed as announced by IRCC on May 2. Proof of funds must be shown by Express Entry candidates in order to demonstrate that they have sufficient money to Settle in Canada.
For Express Entry candidates who have a valid job offer to work in Canada or the candidates in Canadian Experience Class, proof of funds is not required. This is true even for the applicants under Federal Skilled Trades Program and Federal Skilled Workers Program.
To reflect that candidates still have the required amount of settlement funds, they must update their profiles so that they can stay eligible for Express Entry. IRCC updates the proof of funds amount on an annual basis.
This draw was followed by the draw on 26 April in which 3,500 candidates were invited with the CRS cut-off score of 483. With a CRS cut-off score of 486, 3,500 candidates were invited by IRCC on April 12.
When IRCC invited more than 21,000 candidates over four consecutive draws, three of which invited 7,000 candidates, the number of candidates per draw became half of what was seen over March. In the history of Express Entry Canada, the second-highest number of candidates were invited in March. 27,332 CEC candidates received an ITA in February 2021 and it was the only draw to exceed the previously mentioned draw.
A tentative return to the normal schedule has also been marked in April. Express Entry draws typically occur every second week on Wednesdays, until late 2022 and throughout March 2023. A return to typical all-program draws has also been shown by the March and April draws.
Most draws were program specific for the Provincial Nominee Program throughout January and February this year. The first-ever program-specific draw was held by IRCC for the Federal Skilled Workers Program on February 2.Canada Immigration News, the most efficient news portal for Canadian immigration, will help you to keep tabs on the Express Entry as well as Provincial Nominee Program draws.
