Latest Provincial Nomination Round Sees Invitations from British Columbia and PEI
Two provinces in Canada have requested applications for nomination under the Provincial Nominee Program.
The PNP was initiated in Manitoba in 1998 as a way to distribute the economic benefits of immigration across parts of Canada that are often less relevant to newcomers. All of the provinces and territories have PNPs except Quebec and Nunavut.
This is a feature of the program that opens up space for provincial governments to choose from among applicants who enter the local workforce through economic immigration. Of course, the number each province is allowed is capped and has to be included in the federal Immigration Levels Plan. Published on 24th October 2025, the 2025 Plan is telling in its consequences: a near-cut-half reduction in total PNP nominations from the previous calendar year to only 55,000 in 2024 from 110,000.
A provincial nomination would highly increase the chances of a candidate who would get permanent residency. This benefit is specifically granted to candidates of Express Entry as they will have 600 more points added to their CRS score. Newcomers prefer permanent residency through PNP in a high percentage.
Provincial Immigration Results from October 26 to November 1
British Columbia
October 30, British Columbia has invited more than 83 applicants in order to nominate them under its Provincial Nominee Program known as BC PNP.
BC PNP had conducted a general draw. Under the general draw, 31 applicants under Skilled Worker, International Graduate, Entry Level and Semi-Skilled streams received invitations and required having at least 134 score. Candidates under Entry Level and Semi-Skilled streams were required to have a minimum of 117 score under this round.
Moreover, B.C. holds four targeted rounds of draw for applicants in Skilled Worker and International Graduate Streams according to specific occupation given below:
- Child care occupation: 20 candidates with minimum score 90
- Construction occupation: 20 candidates with minimum Score 96
- Healthcare: 12 candidates with minimum Score 104
- Veterinary: less than 5 candidates with minimum score 80
Prince Edward Island
89 new candidates under Labor and Express entry streams have received an ITA in this latest intake from Prince Edward Island. Candidates with job experience, especially within PEI in healthcare, construction, or manufacturing industries are considered most.
Two other Business work permits Entrepreneurs candidates managed to secure ITA too. This lot must hold at least 92 and above points on their PR profile.
So far over the past 12 months, 1,237 PNP invites were delivered to the Labour and 98% Express Entry by Prince Edward Island.
