Three Provinces Nominated Candidates from June 17 to 22

Three provinces nominated candidates from June 17 to 22, namely, Ontario, New Brunswick, and British Columbia under Provincial Nominee Program.

Candidates who can economically establish themselves within the province and easily integrate into the provincial labour force are most likely to be nominated by provincial governments.

PNP draws are held by most provinces and territories to target candidates with specific occupations such as healthcare, skilled trades, and tech. By this, candidates who can fill local labour shortages can be targeted by the provinces.

The federal government will soon begin to hold Express Entry draws in upcoming category-based-selection draws through Immigration, Refugees, and Citizenship Canada for specific occupations and French language abilities.

If a PNP candidate in the Express Entry pool receives a provincial nomination, additional 600 CRS points are automatically received by them. Chances that they will receive an invitation to apply will be far more likely after receiving an enhanced Provincial Nominee Program nomination.

Economic immigration candidates may still apply for provincial nomination if they are not already in an Express Entry program. Their overall permanent resident application may be strengthened by this. Getting permanent residence and getting nominated by a province are two different things.

Candidates who have provincial nominations still have to apply separately to IRCC. Between federal and provincial governments, immigration is considered a shared responsibility.

New Brunswick

A total of 93 Express Entry candidates were invited in the three streams throughout May by the New Brunswick which includes 21 individuals in the NB Employment Connection, 62 individuals in the Occupations in Demand Connection, and 10 individuals in the NB Student Connection.

509 provincial Express Entry candidates were nominated by New Brunswick this year, to this date. In 2023, March was the busiest month so far when 186 candidates were invited. 21,667 candidates were invited across Canada in March, which was the busiest month for federal Express Entry draws.

British Columbia

For candidates in the Skilled Workers and International Graduates streams of BC PNP including Express Entry candidates, four targeted draws were held by British Columbia on 20 June. More than 144 candidates were invited in total.

107 candidates were targeted by the largest draw with tech occupations. The minimum cut-off Skills Immigration Registration System (SIRS) score was 90. The SIRS score of the British Columbia Provincial Nominee Program is equivalent to the CRS score of the Express Entry.

19 candidates in healthcare occupations, 18 early childhood educators and assistants, and less than five other priority occupations are targeted by the remaining three draws. A minimum score of 60 is required by the candidate in each draw.
