The Government of Yukon has announced a significant change to the Yukon Nominee Program (YNP), transitioning to an intake-based application process. This new system is designed to streamline the management of applications and ensure efficient processing throughout the year.
The intake-based approach will limit the number of applications accepted during each intake period. Once the set cap is reached, no further applications will be accepted until the next intake opens.
The first intake for 2025 will begin on January 29, allowing up to 125 applications. Future intakes are expected to occur quarterly, although the government has not confirmed an official schedule. The size and frequency of these intakes will depend on the federal government’s allocation of nominations. Yukon has already requested an increase in its 2025 nomination quota.

The new intake-based process will allow the YNP to:
By adopting this approach, the Government of Yukon aims to support the territory’s economic growth while maintaining a fair and transparent immigration process.
