The highest overall increase in people who would consider moving permanently to another country was still Latin America and the Caribbean, showing a 19% increase between 2011 and 2021. In Honduras, Ecuador, and the Dominican Republic, more than 45% of respondents would immigrate if they have the opportunity.
There is a difference between people who would like to leave their home country and those who do so, as noted by the poll. Circumstances such as family, finances, and job opportunities affect many people who are willing to migrate, and as a result, they are never able to leave their country.
Canada is seeking more immigrants
Well-publicized immigration targets of Canada are likely a factor in its popularity as a destination for newly arrived people.
